Battery systems play a decisive role in emergency and designated power supplies. UPS and BSV systems, emergency and safety lighting, direct current supply systems, and diesel start systems use stationary battery systems as energy sources. Industrial vehicles and other electrical, mobile machines in turn use traction batteries for their drives. Stationary tubular-plate block batteries and single cells closed (OPzS)
OPzS batteries are robust energy packages whose classic technology is based on a liquid electrolyte. For decades, they have proven themselves to be reliable for applications in telecommunications, in power generation and distribution, in data and hazard detection technology as well as in safety lighting and in all other areas of safety power supply. They are notable for their suitability for use under high charge and discharge loads, their extremely long service life and a nominal number of cycles of up to 1500 discharges at a discharge depth of 80%.
Stationary tubular-plate gel block batteries and single cells closed (OPzV)
These batteries combine the properties of tubular plate technology and sealed technology: the electrolyte is embedded in a gel. They can therefore also be installed horizontally and require less ventilation than "closed" battery types. They have a long service life and a nominal number of cycles of approx. 1000 discharges at a discharge depth of 80%. Excellent energy storage properties and robust reliability round off the picture of this type of battery.
Stationary sealed AGM batteries (OGiV)
These are sealed, rechargeable batteries in which the electrolyte is absorbed in a glass fibre fleece (AGM = Absorbent Glass Mat). They can therefore be used in any position and require less ventilation than "closed" batteries. Their main features are a high energy density, excellent high current properties and a medium service life, whereby the cycle life is typically approx. 300 to 600 discharges with 80% residual capacity.
